Pardini .45 Dot Sight Mount — Improved Recoil Lugs
The following photos detail the improvements a local gunsmith has made to the Weaver base on my .45. As detailed previously, I have been having problems holding zero. After some troubleshooting, I’ve determined that the culprit is the recoil lugs (or lack thereof) on the base.

This photo shows a top view of the new lugs. They are hardened steel pins that have been pressed into the base in a position that allow the sight to be supported on both sides equally. I’ll hit the rust spots with a little Krylon! |

Here is a view from the front with the scope cover removed. You can see how the lugs are positioned to support the sight on both sides of the mounting surfaces. |
