Armati is a set of easy-to-understand rules and lists for Ancient, Medieval and Renaissance wargaming, written by Arty Conliffe and published by Quantum Printing in 1994. A supplement, Advanced Armati, co-authored by Arty Conliffe and Rob Wolsky was subsequently published in 1996; Advanced Armati provided a new army list system, rules clarifications, and many new rules to expand the game system.
The latest addition to the Armati system, Armati 2nd Edition by Rob Wolsky assisted by Arty Conliffe, returns the Armati game to the original format and subject matter; a single volume (with army lists) for Ancient and Medieval wargaming. It features an extensive overhaul of the game system for clarity, play balance, and ease of use. A new volume to expand the coverage of the Renaissance and Reformation periods is currently in development; this will be a stand-alone set of rules, not a supplement, and will further expand and refine the Armati system.
