Free Pistol Update - my efforts last week have paid off; the pistol is fully functional. I was able to very quickly get the gun centered on a blank target, and fine tuned the groups at 50ft. after each ten shot series. I put a box (50 rds.) through the gun and made some adjustments to the grip and the floating barrel weights (which, on a PGP75, look ridiculous but work very well).
One observation - the barrel weights made a noticable difference in the stability of my hold, and this was confirmed by the group size on the target. I started with the weights as close my hand as possible, and finished with them positioned all the way out near the end of the barrel. The further out I put them, the better the gun felt. This makes sense of the current trend of pistols with "antennae" sticking out the front. I'd love to experiment with this further in the future, but for now the current configuration is fine.
All in all, a very positive week, culminating in a nicely centered sub-2" group. I am really enjoying shooting this gun, and will compete the 21st of April barring unforseens.
