More Sporterifle practice this Thursday night. I was able to post a new PB for a single target (photo) as well as for a three target series (274). I'd like to get that up over 280, but I may not be able to with the Sako rig as it is currently set up. I mentioned putting together a Ruger 10/22, and that is still the plan. I'm not sure if it is just plain nuts to invest $400 or so accurizing a $179 dollar rifle, but it sure will be fun to shoot!

Air Pistol training has been off schedule the last two weeks; I need to pick up the pace to prepare for the September 16th match. On a happy note, my club has decided to do away with the "members only" policy for any club sanctioned event - I am investigating running Air Pistol and Free Pistol matches on our 50 foot indoor range. There doesn't seem to be any reason I can't pull it off and I am very excited about the possibility of not having to drive hours and hours to shoot a match! The time and effort it will take to get things rolling is well worth the eventual pay off.

On a sour note, I've let my IPSC membership expire. I just can't justify the investment of time the sport requires any longer. I've spent many hours practicing, and many many many hours driving - at the end of the day, too much of the time at a match is spent standing around doing nothing at all.

I've not given up on "Practical Style" shooting, however. I am running a small match at our club this Saturday for members only. Non-sanctioned and informal, but that is in line with my goal of keeping things moving and letting the participants get in as much shooting as possible. I hope it goes well, as I'd like to make it a regular "last Saturday" feature until the snow arrives.

In the master plan according to Rob Image I will have the Air Pistol and Free Pistol programs up and running to take the place of the "Practical" match on Saturdays.
