In the spring of 2000, Arty asked me to assume a much larger role with Armati than I had previously held (tournament coordinator and army list checker). Essentially, I have been asked to guide the future of the rules from all perspectives. Despite a number of (joking?) remarks on the news list, I am not the "Roi", "King", or "Grand Poo-bah" of Armati; a better title might be "Prime Minister" or "1st Consul". I have a great deal of authority, but I still consult Pharoah on all important matters. This web page is one of the first actions I wanted to take. It replaces both the original (and very nice!) web site built by John Kovalic, as well as the Strategos newsletter. Hence the site's name. My goal is provide an Internet presence which will serve as the official Armati archives and communication center. Hopefully, rule changes, interpretations, and army lists will be much more readily available to everyone through this medium. I will do my absolute best to ensure the site is regularly updated. I also intend to keep this site as simple as possible. There are three reasons for this. 1) I'm just learning web development (so I can't do too much fancy stuff); 2) My available web space is limited; and 3) It's easier to maintain. Another guiding principle behind all of these is that it's the content of these pages that is important, not the aesthetics of the presentation.... So, please take a few minutes and look over the site, then feel free to let me know what you think. If you see something that can be improved, by all means feel free to request changes. Also, there may be the odd typo - I had to re-type all the lists, etc. Again, if you see something that looks incorrect, let me know and I'll fix it January, 2001 |
